Exercise is good for your health. I think that is something even Democratic and Republican Senators could agree on! Study after study have shown the positive correlation between exercise and better physical health. Sure, it makes sense that is you exercises regularly, you will lose some weight and be able to bring down your blood pressure and strengthen your health. What is a little more surprising is the positive effect exercise can have on your mental health, even much later in life.
A new study in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine suggests that exercise may prevent depression later in life. The key here is that "later in life" part. I think we all know that if we are in a funk, down or depressed, getting out and exercising can have an immediate positive impact. What is so interesting about this study is that it found that exercising today, can prevent the onset of depression much later in life.
