I love the Olympics as much as the next person, but there is only so much figure skating I can really watch. Take a break from all the Olympic coverage and instead watch these 24 incredible Ted Talks on Food. The Cultureist has put together 24 Ted Talks that will completely change the way you think about food.
One of my favorites is this one from Tama Matsuoka Wong, How I Did Less And Ate Better, Thanks To Weeds -
Tama Matsuoka Wong used to be a corporate attorney, but now she has one of the coolest job titles in the world - "professional forager". As the only thing I have ever successfully grown is weeds, this topic is of great interest to me.
Not so fast says Ellen Gustafson in her TEDx talk, Obesity + Hunger = 1 Global Food Issue -
Learn how changes in our food supply and how we process food has created 1 billion obese people and 1 billion hungry people, at the same time.
Want to Feel Good and Do Good? Head over to the Cultureist article and make it a point to watch at least 5 of the 24 incredible videos on Food and society. Our guess, once you watch five, you will be hooked and watch all 24.
The great thing about TED talks is that they often force you to think about things in a completely different way. Food is one of those things that plays a role is so many aspects of our society, but we often don't put much critical thinking into everything that goes into it. These TED talks will have you looking at your food in a whole new light.
Don't worry, we will let you know if anything exciting happens in Figure Skating!
