Who Knew A Photo Could Do So Much Good?

We all know that a photo is worth 1,000 words, but did you also know it is worth school supplies, food, money and hope?

There is a great and inspiring story over on The Huffington Post today about how a simple photo of a boy studying in the streets of the Philippines created an outpouring of Good and Kindness.

On 6/23, Joyce Torrefranca posted these two photos of a young boy in Mandaue City, Philippines on her Facebook page -

The post went viral and suddenly total strangers from around the world wanted to help the kid.  The child and his Mom were tracked down and they have been receiving school supplies, food, money and other donations from around the world.

See, Facebook Is Good For More Than Just Cat Videos

What we love about this story is that it is completely natural and organic.  There was no clever marketing campaign - simply a person posting a photo and people responding with acts of kindness.

It is stories like this that show that Facebook and social media have incredible power...and are good for much more than just sharing cat videos!

Head over to Huff Post and read the story, I promise it will put a smile on your face!
